他殺他們的時候，他們才求問他，回心轉意，切切地尋求神。
78:35 他們也追念神是他們的磐石，至高的神是他們的救贖主。
78:36 他們卻用口諂媚他，用舌向他說謊。
78:37 因他們的心向他不正，在他的約上也不忠心。
78:38 但他有憐憫，赦免他們的罪孽，不滅絕他們，而且屢次消他的怒氣，不發盡他的忿怒。
78:39 他想到他們不過是血氣，是一陣去而不返的風。
78:40 他們在曠野悖逆他，在荒地叫他擔憂，何其多呢！
78:41 他們再三試探神，惹動以色列的聖者。

78:34 When he slew them,
they sought for him; they repented and sought God earnestly.
78:35 They remembered that God was their
rock, the Most High God their redeemer.
78:36 But they flattered him with their
mouths; they lied to him with their tongues.
78:37 Their heart was not steadfast toward
him; they were not true to his covenant.
78:38 Yet he, being compassionate, forgave
their iniquity, and did not destroy them; he restrained his anger often,
and did not stir up all his wrath.
78:39 He remembered that they were but
flesh, a wind that passes and comes not again.
78:40 How often they rebelled against him in
the wilderness and grieved him in the desert!
78:41 They tested him again and again, and
provoked the Holy One of Israel.
78:42 They did not keep in mind his power,
or the day when he redeemed them from the foe;
