7:46 大衛在　神面前蒙恩，祈求為雅各的　神預備居所；
7:47 卻是所羅門為　神造成殿宇。
7:48 其實，至高者並不住人手所造的，就如先知所言：
7:49 主說：天是我的座位，地是我的腳凳；你們要為我造何等的殿宇？哪裏是我安息的地方呢？
7:50 這一切不都是我手所造的嗎？
7:51 「你們這硬著頸項、心與耳未受割禮的人，常時抗拒聖靈！你們的祖宗怎樣，你們也怎樣。
7:52 哪一個先知不是你們祖宗逼迫呢？他們也把預先傳說那義者要來的人殺了；如今你們又把那義者賣了，殺了。
7:53 你們受了天使所傳的律法，竟不遵守。」

眾人用石頭打死司提反
7:54 眾人聽見這話就極其惱怒，向司提反咬牙切齒。
7:55 但司提反被聖靈充滿，定睛望天，看見　神的榮耀，又看見耶穌站在　神的右邊，
7:56 就說：「我看見天開了，人子站在　神的右邊。」
7:57 眾人大聲喊叫，摀著耳朵，齊心擁上前去，
7:58 把他推到城外，用石頭打他。作見證的人把衣裳放在一個少年人名叫掃羅的腳前。
7:59 他們正用石頭打的時候，司提反呼籲主說：「求主耶穌接收我的靈魂！」
7:60 又跪下大聲喊著說：「主啊，不要將這罪歸於他們！」說了這話，就睡了。掃羅也喜悅他被害。

7:46 大衛蒙上帝喜悅，要求准許他為上帝─就是雅各的上帝─建造一座殿宇【5】；
7:47 可是，後來為上帝建造殿宇的卻是所羅門。
7:48 「其實，至高的上帝並不住在人所建造的殿宇裏，正如先知所說：
7:49 主說：天是我的寶座；地是我的腳凳。你們要為我建造哪一種殿宇呢？何處是我安息的地方呢？
7:50 這一切不都是我親自創造的嗎？
7:51 「你們這些頑固的人哪，你們心胸閉塞，充耳不聞上帝的信息！你們和你們的祖先一樣，總是跟聖靈作對！
7:52 哪一個先知沒有受過你們祖先的迫害呢？先知們宣告那公義的僕人要來臨，你們的祖先卻把他們殺了；現在你們竟又出賣那僕人，殺害了他。
7:53 你們是接受了上帝法律的人；這法律是由天使傳下的，而你們卻不遵守法律！」

司提反殉道
7:54 議會的議員聽了司提反這一些話，非常惱怒，向他咬牙切齒。
7:55 司提反被聖靈充滿，舉目望天，看見上帝的榮耀，又看見耶穌站在上帝的右邊，
7:56 就說：「我看見天門開了，人子站在上帝的右邊！」
7:57 他們就大聲喊叫，用手掩耳，又一擁上前，抓住司提反，
7:58 把他推出城外，用石頭打他。那些證人把自己的外衣交給一個名叫掃羅的青年看管。
7:59 司提反在石頭紛紛襲擊下，向主呼求說：「主耶穌啊，求你接納我的靈魂！」
7:60 他又跪下來，大聲喊說：「主啊，不要把這罪歸給他們！」他說完這話就死了。

⁴⁶"David found favor in God's sight, and asked that he might find a dwelling place for the God of Jacob.

 ⁴⁷"But it was ⁾Solomon who built a house for Him.

 ⁴⁸"However, the Most High does not dwell in houses made by human hands; as the prophet says:
    ⁴⁹'HEAVEN IS MY THRONE,
         AND EARTH IS THE FOOTSTOOL OF MY FEET;
         WHAT KIND OF HOUSE WILL YOU BUILD FOR ME?' says the Lord,
         'OR WHAT PLACE IS THERE FOR MY REPOSE?
    ⁵⁰'WAS IT NOT MY HAND WHICH MADE ALL THESE THINGS?'

 ⁵¹"You men who are stiff-necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears are always resisting the Holy Spirit; you are doing just as your fathers did.

 ⁵²"Which one of the prophets did your fathers not persecute? They killed those who had previously announced the coming of the Righteous One, whose betrayers and murderers you have now become;

 ⁵³you who received the law as ordained by angels, and yet did not keep it."

Stephen Put to Death

 ⁵⁴Now when they heard this, they were cut to the quick, and they began gnashing their teeth at him.

 ⁵⁵But being full of the Holy Spirit, he gazed intently into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God;

 ⁵⁶and he said, "Behold, I see the heavens opened up and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God."

 ⁵⁷But they cried out with a loud voice, and covered their ears and rushed at him with one impulse.

 ⁵⁸When they had driven him out of the city, they began stoning him; and the witnesses laid aside their robes at the feet of a young man named Saul.

 ⁵⁹They went on stoning Stephen as he called on the Lord and said, "Lord Jesus, receive my spirit!"

 ⁶⁰Then falling on his knees, he cried out with a loud voice, "Lord, do not hold this sin against them!" Having said this, he fell asleep.
