3:1 路得的婆婆拿俄米對她說：「女兒啊，我不當為你找個安身之處，使你享福嗎？
3:2 你與波阿斯的使女常在一處，波阿斯不是我們的親族嗎？他今夜在場上簸大麥；
3:3 你要沐浴抹膏，換上衣服，下到場上，卻不要使那人認出你來。你等他吃喝完了，
3:4
到他睡的時候，你看準他睡的地方，就進去掀開他腳上的被，躺臥在那裡，他必告訴你所當做的事。」
3:5 路得說：「凡你所吩咐的，我必遵行。」
3:6 路得就下到場上，照她婆婆所吩咐她的而行。

波阿斯吃喝完了，心裡歡暢，就去睡在麥堆旁邊。路得便悄悄地來掀開他腳上的被，躺臥在那裡。
3:8 到了夜半，那人忽然驚醒，翻過身來，不料有女子躺在他的腳下。

他就說：「你是誰？」回答說：「我是你的婢女路得。求你用你的衣襟遮蓋我，因為你是我一個至近的親屬。」

3:1 有一天，拿娥美對路得說：「女兒，我必須替你找個丈夫，好使你有個歸宿。
3:2 記得波阿斯是我們的親族嗎？你曾經跟他的女工一起工作。聽我說，今晚他會在禾場上簸麥子。
3:3 你去洗澡，擦點香水，穿上最好的衣服，然後到禾場去。但是不要讓他知道你在那裏，要等他吃完了，喝夠了。
3:4 要看準他躺的地方；他睡著了，你就去，掀開被子，躺在他腳邊。他會告訴你該做甚麼。」
3:5 路得回答：「你說甚麼，我就做甚麼。」
3:6 於是，路得到禾場去，照著她婆婆告訴她的做了。
3:7 波阿斯吃完了，喝夠了，心情愉快，就到麥堆旁躺下睡了。路得悄悄地走了過去，掀開被子，躺在他腳邊。
3:8 到了半夜，波阿斯忽然醒了，轉過身來，驚奇地發現有個女人睡在腳邊，
3:9 就問：「你是誰？」她說：「先生，我是路得，你的婢女。你是我的至親，有義務照顧我。請你娶我！」

3:1 Then Na'omi her mother-in-law said to her, "My
daughter, should I not seek a home for you, that it may be well with
you?
3:2 Now is not Bo'az our kinsman, with whose
maidens you were? See, he is winnowing barley tonight at the threshing
floor.
3:3 Wash therefore and anoint yourself, and
put on your best clothes and go down to the threshing floor; but do not
make yourself known to the man until he has finished eating and
drinking.
3:4 But when he lies down, observe the place
where he lies; then, go and uncover his feet and lie down; and he will
tell you what to do."
3:5 And she replied, "All that you say I will
do."
3:6 So she went down to the threshing floor
and did just as her mother-in-law had told her.
3:7 And when Bo'az had eaten and drunk, and
his heart was merry, he went to lie down at the end of the heap of
grain. Then she came softly, and uncovered his feet, and lay down.
3:8 At midnight the man was startled, and
turned over, and behold, a woman lay at his feet!
3:9 He said, "Who are you?" And she answered,
"I am Ruth, your maidservant; spread your skirt over your maidservant,
for you are next of kin."
