西門彼得跟著耶穌，還有一個門徒跟著。那門徒是大祭司所認識的，他就同耶穌進了大祭司的院子。
18:16
彼得卻站在門外。大祭司所認識的那個門徒出來，和看門的使女說了一聲，就領彼得進去。
18:17 那看門的使女對彼得說：你不也是這人的門徒嗎？他說：我不是。
18:18 僕人和差役因為天冷，就生了炭火，站在那裡烤火；彼得也同他們站著烤火。
18:19 大祭司就以耶穌的門徒和他的教訓盤問他。
18:20
耶穌回答說：我從來是明明的對世人說話。我常在會堂和殿裡，就是猶太人聚集的地方教訓人；我在暗地裡並沒有說甚麼。
18:21 你為甚麼問我呢？可以問那聽見的人，我對他們說的是甚麼；我所說的，他們都知道。
18:22 耶穌說了這話，旁邊站著的一個差役用手掌打他，說：你這樣回答大祭司嗎？
18:23 耶穌說：我若說的不是，你可以指證那不是；我若說的是，你為甚麼打我呢？
18:24 亞那就把耶穌解到大祭司該亞法那裡，仍是捆著解去的。
18:25 西門彼得正站著烤火，有人對他說：你不也是他的門徒嗎？彼得不承認，說：我不是。

有大祭司的一個僕人，是彼得削掉耳朵那人的親屬，說：我不是看見你同他在園子裡嗎？
18:27 彼得又不承認。立時雞就叫了。

18:16 彼得留在門外。那個跟大祭司相識的門徒再出來，對看門的女孩子說了一聲，然後帶彼得進去。
18:17 看門的女孩子指著彼得，說：「你不也是那個人的門徒嗎？」彼得說：「我不是！」
18:18 當時天氣寒冷，那些僕人和警衛生了炭火，大家站著取暖；彼得也上前，跟他們一起站著取暖。

大祭司盤問耶穌有關他的門徒和他的教導等事情。
18:20 耶穌回答：「我對人講話一向都是公開的。我常在會堂和聖殿裏，那些猶太人聚會的場所，教導人，從來沒有暗地裏講甚麼。
18:21 你為甚麼盤問我呢？去問那些聽過我說話的人吧，他們知道我講過甚麼。」
18:22 耶穌說了這話，旁邊的一個警衛打了他一巴掌，說：「你竟敢這樣回答大祭司！」
18:23 耶穌說：「我若說錯了，你儘管指出我的錯處，若是對，你為甚麼打我？」
18:24 這時候耶穌仍然被綁著，亞那又把他解送到大祭司該亞法那裏去。
18:25
這時候，西門‧彼得還站著取暖。有人對他說：「你不也是那個人的門徒嗎？」彼得否認說：「我不是！」
18:26 有一個大祭司的奴僕，是被彼得砍掉耳朵那人的親戚，說：「我不是看見你跟那個人在園子裏嗎？」
18:27 彼得又說：「不是！」就在這時候，雞叫了。

18:15 Simon Peter followed
Jesus, and so did another disciple. As this disciple was known to the
high priest, he entered the court of the high priest along with Jesus,
18:16 while Peter stood outside at the door.
So the other disciple, who was known to the high priest, went out and
spoke to the maid who kept the door, and brought Peter in.
18:17 The maid who kept the door said to
Peter, "Are not you also one of this man's disciples?" He said, "I am
not."
18:18 Now the servants and officers had made
a charcoal fire, because it was cold, and they were standing and
warming themselves; Peter also was with them, standing and warming
himself.
18:19 The high priest then questioned Jesus
about his disciples and his teaching.
18:20 Jesus answered him, "I have spoken
openly to the world; I have always taught in synagogues and in the
temple, where all Jews come together; I have said nothing secretly.
18:21 Why do you ask me? Ask those who have
heard me, what I said to them; they know what I said."
18:22 When he had said this, one of the
officers standing by struck Jesus with his hand, saying, "Is that how
you answer the high priest?"
18:23 Jesus answered him, "If I have spoken
wrongly, bear witness to the wrong; but if I have spoken rightly, why do
you strike me?"
18:24 Annas then sent him bound to Ca'iaphas
the high priest.
18:25 Now Simon Peter was standing and
warming himself. They said to him, "Are not you also one of his
disciples?" He denied it and said, "I am not."
18:26 One of the servants of the high
priest, a kinsman of the man whose ear Peter had cut off, asked, "Did I
not see you in the garden with him?"
18:27 Peter again denied it; and at once the
cock crowed.
