25:13 過了些日子，亞基帕王和百尼基氏來到凱撒利亞，問非斯都安。
25:14 在那裡住了多日，非斯都將保羅的事告訴王，說：這裡有一個人，是腓力斯留在監裡的。
25:15 我在耶路撒冷的時候，祭司長和猶太的長老將他的事稟報了我，求我定他的罪。
25:16 我對他們說，無論甚麼人，被告還沒有和原告對質，未得機會分訴所告他的事，就先定他的罪，這不是羅馬人的條例。
25:17 及至他們都來到這裡，我就不耽延，第二天便坐堂，吩咐把那人提上來。
25:18 告他的人站著告他；所告的，並沒有我所逆料的那等惡事。
25:19 不過是有幾樣辯論，為他們自己敬鬼神的事，又為一個人名叫耶穌，是已經死了，保羅卻說他是活著的。
25:20 這些事當怎樣究問，我心裡作難，所以問他說：你願意上耶路撒冷去，在那裡為這些事聽審嗎？
25:21 但保羅求我留下他，要聽皇上審斷，我就吩咐把他留下，等我解他到凱撒那裡去。
25:22 亞基帕對非斯都說：我自己也願聽這人辯論。非斯都說：明天你可以聽。
25:23 第二天，亞基帕和百尼基大張威勢而來，同著眾千夫長和城裡的尊貴人進了公廳。非斯都吩咐一聲，就有人將保羅帶進來。
25:24 非斯都說：亞基帕王和在這裡的諸位啊，你們看這人，就是一切猶太人，在耶路撒冷和這裡，曾向我懇求、呼叫說：不可容他再活著。
25:25 但我查明他沒有犯甚麼該死的罪，並且他自己上告於皇帝，所以我定意把他解去。
25:26 論到這人，我沒有確實的事可以奏明主上。因此，我帶他到你們面前，也特意帶他到你亞基帕王面前，為要在查問之後有所陳奏。
25:27 據我看來，解送囚犯，不指明他的罪案是不合理的。

25:15 前次我上耶路撒冷，那邊的猶太祭司長和長老控告他，要求我定他的罪。
25:16 我告訴他們，按照羅馬人的規矩，在被告沒有跟原告對質，還沒有機會為自己辯護之前是不能夠判罪的。
25:17 等他們都到這裏之後，我沒有耽誤時間，第二天就開庭，命令把那個人提出來應訊。
25:18 原告都站起來控告他，但所告的並不是我想像中的那種罪。
25:19 他們跟他爭論的是有關宗教上的問題，以及一個名叫耶穌的人；這人已經死了，保羅卻說他還活著。
25:20 對這案件我簡直不知道該怎麼辦。我問保羅是否願意上耶路撒冷去，在那裏受審。
25:21 可是，保羅請求把他留下，由皇上審判。因此我命令把他留在牢裏，等著解他到皇上那裏去。」

25:25 但是，我查不出他犯了甚麼該判死刑的罪；而且他既然要向皇帝上訴，我決定把他解去。
25:26 只是關於這個人，我並沒有具體資料可以奏明皇上，因此我帶他到各位面前來，尤其是亞基帕王面前，好在查明案情之後有所陳奏。
25:27 因為依我看，解送囚犯而不詳具案由是不合理的。」

25:13 Now when some days had passed, Agrippa the king and Berni'ce arrived at Caesare'a to welcome Festus.
25:14 And as they stayed there many days, Festus laid Paul's case before the king, saying, "There is a man left prisoner by Felix;
25:15 and when I was at Jerusalem, the chief priests and the elders of the Jews gave information about him, asking for sentence against him.
25:16 I answered them that it was not the custom of the Romans to give up any one before the accused met the accusers face to face, and had opportunity to make his defense concerning the charge laid against him.
25:17 When therefore they came together here, I made no delay, but on the next day took my seat on the tribunal and ordered the man to be brought in.
25:18 When the accusers stood up, they brought no charge in his case of such evils as I supposed;
25:19 but they had certain points of dispute with him about their own superstition and about one Jesus, who was dead, but whom Paul asserted to be alive.
25:20 Being at a loss how to investigate these questions, I asked whether he wished to go to Jerusalem and be tried there regarding them.
25:21 But when Paul had appealed to be kept in custody for the decision of the emperor, I commanded him to be held until I could send him to Caesar."
25:22 And Agrippa said to Festus, "I should like to hear the man myself." "Tomorrow," said he, "you shall hear him."
25:23 So on the morrow Agrippa and Berni'ce came with great pomp, and they entered the audience hall with the military tribunes and the prominent men of the city. Then by command of Festus Paul was brought in.
25:24 And Festus said, "King Agrippa and all who are present with us, you see this man about whom the whole Jewish people petitioned me, both at Jerusalem and here, shouting that he ought not to live any longer.
25:25 But I found that he had done nothing deserving death; and as he himself appealed to the emperor, I decided to send him.
25:26 But I have nothing definite to write to my lord about him. Therefore I have brought him before you, and, especially before you, King Agrippa, that, after we have examined him, I may have something to write.
25:27 For it seems to me unreasonable, in sending a prisoner, not to indicate the charges against him."
