17:1 保羅和西拉經過暗妃坡里、亞波羅尼亞，來到帖撒羅尼迦，在那裡有猶太人的會堂。
17:2 保羅照他素常的規矩進去，一連三個安息日，本著聖經與他們辯論，
17:3 講解陳明基督必須受害，從死裡復活；又說：我所傳與你們的這位耶穌就是基督。
17:4 他們中間有些人聽了勸，就附從保羅和西拉，並有許多虔敬的希臘人，尊貴的婦女也不少。
17:5 但那不信的猶太人心裡嫉妒，招聚了些市井匪類，搭夥成群，聳動合城的人闖進耶孫的家，要將保羅、西拉帶到百姓那裡。
17:6 找不著他們，就把耶孫和幾個弟兄拉到地方官那裡，喊叫說：那攪亂天下的也到這裡來了，
17:7 耶孫收留他們。這些人都違背凱撒的命令，說另有一個王耶穌。
17:8 眾人和地方官聽見這話，就驚慌了；
17:9 於是取了耶孫和其餘之人的保狀，就釋放了他們。
17:10 弟兄們隨即在夜間打發保羅和西拉往庇哩亞去。二人到了，就進入猶太人的會堂。
17:11 這地方的人賢於帖撒羅尼迦的人，甘心領受這道，天天考查聖經，要曉得這道是與不是。
17:12 所以他們中間多有相信的，又有希臘尊貴的婦女，男子也不少。
17:13 但帖撒羅尼迦的猶太人知道保羅又在庇哩亞傳神的道，也就往那裡去，聳動攪擾眾人。
17:14 當時弟兄們便打發保羅往海邊去，西拉和提摩太仍住在庇哩亞。
17:15 送保羅的人帶他到了雅典，既領了保羅的命，叫西拉和提摩太速速到他這裡來，就回去了。

17:1 保羅和西拉繼續他們的旅程，經過暗妃坡里、亞波羅尼亞，來到帖撒羅尼迦，在那裏有猶太人的會堂。
17:2 保羅照習慣進會堂，連續三個安息日，根據聖經跟人家辯論，

17:7 耶孫竟收留他們在家裏！他們違反皇上的諭令，說是另有一個王，名叫耶穌。」
17:8 這些話使群眾和地方官起了一場騷動。
17:9 地方官命令耶孫和其他的人繳款具保，然後釋放他們。
在庇哩亞
17:10 一到晚上，信徒們立刻送保羅和西拉往庇哩亞去。他們到了那裏，就進猶太人的會堂。
17:11 這裏的人比帖撒羅尼迦人開明。他們熱心地傾聽信息，每天查考聖經，要知道保羅所說的是不是真實。
17:12 他們當中有許多人信了；有許多希臘上流社會的婦女和希臘男子也信了。
17:13 可是，帖撒羅尼迦的猶太人一聽說保羅也在庇哩亞傳上帝的道，就到那裏去搗亂，煽動群眾。
17:14 信徒們立刻送保羅往沿海地方去；西拉和提摩太卻留在庇哩亞。
17:15 護送保羅的人一直把他送到雅典，然後回到庇哩亞，帶來保羅所交代的話，要西拉和提摩太儘快趕到他那裏，跟他會合。

17:1 Now when they had passed through Amphip'olis and Apollo'nia, they came to Thessaloni'ca, where there was a synagogue of the Jews.
17:2 And Paul went in, as was his custom, and for three weeks he argued with them from the scriptures,
17:3 explaining and proving that it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead, and saying, "This Jesus, whom I proclaim to you, is the Christ."
17:4 And some of them were persuaded, and joined Paul and Silas; as did a great many of the devout Greeks and not a few of the leading women.
17:5 But the Jews were jealous, and taking some wicked fellows of the rabble, they gathered a crowd, set the city in an uproar, and attacked the house of Jason, seeking to bring them out to the people.
17:6 And when they could not find them, they dragged Jason and some of the brethren before the city authorities, crying, "These men who have turned the world upside down have come here also,
17:7 and Jason has received them; and they are all acting against the decrees of Caesar, saying that there is another king, Jesus."
17:8 And the people and the city authorities were disturbed when they heard this.
17:9 And when they had taken security from Jason and the rest, they let them go.
17:10 The brethren immediately sent Paul and Silas away by night to Beroe'a; and when they arrived they went into the Jewish synagogue.
17:11 Now these Jews were more noble than those in Thessaloni'ca, for they received the word with all eagerness, examining the scriptures daily to see if these things were so.
17:12 Many of them therefore believed, with not a few Greek women of high standing as well as men.
17:13 But when the Jews of Thessaloni'ca learned that the word of God was proclaimed by Paul at Beroe'a also, they came there too, stirring up and inciting the crowds.
17:14 Then the brethren immediately sent Paul off on his way to the sea, but Silas and Timothy remained there.
17:15 Those who conducted Paul brought him as far as Athens; and receiving a command for Silas and Timothy to come to him as soon as possible, they departed.
