於是，波阿斯娶了路得為妻，與她同房。耶和華使她懷孕生了一個兒子。
4:14
婦人們對拿俄米說：「耶和華是應當稱頌的！因為今日沒有撇下你，使你無至近的親屬。願這孩子在以色列中得名聲。
4:15
他必提起你的精神，奉養你的老，因為是愛慕你的那兒婦所生的。有這兒婦比有七個兒子還好！」
4:16 拿俄米就把孩子抱在懷中，作他的養母。
4:17
鄰舍的婦人說：「拿俄米得孩子了！」就給孩子起名叫俄備得。這俄備得是耶西的父，耶西是大衛的父。
4:18 法勒斯的後代記在下面：法勒斯生希斯崙；
4:19 希斯崙生蘭；蘭生亞米拿達；
4:20 亞米拿達生拿順；拿順生撒門；
4:21 撒門生波阿斯；波阿斯生俄備得；
4:22 俄備得生耶西；耶西生大衛。

4:13 於是，波阿斯娶了路得。上主賜福給她，她就懷孕，生了一個兒子。
4:14 城裏的婦女們對拿娥美說：「讚美上主！他今天給了你一個至親來照顧你。願這孩子在以色列中有聲望。
4:15 你的媳婦愛你；她為你所做的，比七個兒子所做的還多。現在她給你生了一個孫子；這孫子將帶給你新的活力，使你安享晚年。」
4:16 拿娥美接過這孩子，緊抱著他，撫養他【9】。
4:17
鄰居的婦女給這孩子取名俄備得。她們爭相告訴每一個人，說：「拿娥美得了一個兒子啦！」俄備得是耶西的父親；耶西就是大衛王的父親。
4:18 從法勒斯到大衛的家譜是這樣的：法勒斯、希斯崙、蘭、亞米拿達、拿順、撒門、波阿斯、俄備得、耶西、大衛。

4:13 So Bo'az took Ruth and
she became his wife; and he went in to her, and the LORD gave her
conception, and she bore a son.
4:14 Then the women said to Na'omi, "Blessed
be the LORD, who has not left you this day without next of kin; and may
his name be renowned in Israel!
4:15 He shall be to you a restorer of life
and a nourisher of your old age; for your daughter-in-law who loves you,
who is more to you than seven sons, has borne him."
4:16 Then Na'omi took the child and laid him
in her bosom, and became his nurse.
4:17 And the women of the neighborhood gave
him a name, saying, "A son has been born to Na'omi." They named him
Obed; he was the father of Jesse, the father of David.
4:18 Now these are the descendants of Perez:
Perez was the father of Hezron,
4:19 Hezron of Ram, Ram of Ammin'adab,
4:20 Ammin'adab of Nahshon, Nahshon of
Salmon,
4:21 Salmon of Bo'az, Bo'az of Obed,
4:22 Obed of Jesse, and Jesse of David.
